Guerrilla Gardening

Here we are in Goodwood doing a bit of impromptu guerrilla gardening on a street verge – planting out endemic native Australian plants grown by local conservation business, the Blackforest Conservancy.

Road verges are a ubiquitous form of green space that contribute to urban biodiversity, ecosystem function and human amenity. We know greenery in the street can provide habitat, shelter and resources for a wide range of species from bees and butterflied to birds and bats.”

Guerrilla Gardening may be used by residents to start up their own verge. The Unley Council will currently help you with getting your verge going. To find out more visit here.
